BrainControl is a platform based on Artificial Intelligence for human-machine interaction through bio-feedback. Its first application was addressed as BCI-based augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), a sort “mental joystick”, allowing to overcome severe physical and communicative disabilities. “BrainControl BCI Easy” fills a technological void for patients who are cognitively aware, but completely unable to move or communicate, a state called “locked-in”, and meets many of the unmet needs for patients in less advanced states who are currently using or cannot use eye-tracking systems. Future versions will include advanced functionalities of communication, entertainment, home automation and robotic. Working prototypes of a virtual keyboard, home automation, wheelchair control and of a humanoid robot control with multiple modes of interaction have already been developed.
