The Duke Endowment

The Duke Endowment is an independent non-profit private foundation based in Charlotte, North Carolina, established in 1924 by industrialist James B. Duke. Its mission is to enhance the well-being of individuals and strengthen communities in North Carolina and South Carolina by providing support in four primary areas: higher education, health care, children's welfare, and spiritual life. The foundation focuses on nurturing children, promoting health and education, and enriching the spiritual lives of the people it serves.
