Attica Ventures

Attica Ventures is a venture capital firm based in Athens, Greece, established in September 2003 as the venture capital arm of Attica Bank S.A. The firm specializes in investing in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) at various stages, including start-up, early stage, and later stage investments. Attica Ventures primarily focuses on sectors such as telecommunications, information technology, biotechnology, energy, and new materials. Its investment strategy emphasizes companies that demonstrate a competitive advantage through technology and innovation. While primarily investing in Greek companies, Attica Ventures may also consider European firms with a legal seat in Greece and an export orientation. The firm typically invests €1 million per financing round, with a total investment cap of €4.5 million for early-stage companies and €3 million for later-stage firms. Attica Ventures prefers to acquire minority stakes, usually between 10% and 49%, and seeks to exit investments within three to five years through various means, including IPOs or trade sales. Notably, it avoids investments in publicly traded companies and certain industries such as shipbuilding, coal, steel, and gambling.
