State Grid Corporation of China, founded in 2002 and based in Beijing, is a state-owned enterprise focused on the investment, construction, and operation of power grids across China. It provides electricity to approximately 1.1 billion people in 26 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, covering 88% of the national territory. Additionally, the company has operations in several countries, including the Philippines, Brazil, Portugal, Australia, Italy, Hong Kong, and Greece. With a registered capital of RMB 200 billion, State Grid plays a crucial role in ensuring a secure and reliable power supply, contributing significantly to national energy safety and economic stability. By the end of 2005, it had established an extensive transmission network, boasting 195,899 kilometers of high-voltage lines and a transforming capacity of 616.64 GVA, while employing approximately 1.5 million people and serving 128 million customers.
