However this market is experiencing very strong growth in Senegal, where health spending per capita increased sharply since the early 2000s. FIDES BANK Namibia is a microfinance institution (MFI) in Namibia which has started its operations in early 2010. It is the only true MFI in the country. The bank has taken over the activities of a microfinance program developed on a small scale since 2005. FIDES, as a microfinance operator, has specific expertise in the startup and management of private microfinance institution involved in rural areas. I&P is one of the founding shareholders of FIDES BANK Namibia, which has chosen to operate with a commercial bank status, becoming the fifth largest bank. Namibia displays a particularly harsh context to develop microfinance activities, especially in rural areas, due to the very low population density and high costs associated with the deployment of services. The bank started its activities in the Northern region of Namibia where population is moderately low which was completely unserved by financial and banking institutions.

Cofipêche is settled in Abidjan and locally produces knotless fishing nets sold in Ivory Coast and the sub-region. They are used for surface fishing and fish farming. Both factory trawlers and traditional fishermen prioritize this kind of nets for they do not hurt the fishes. Those international regulation-compliant nets designed to save the natural stocks from over-fishing are locally crafted from imported nylon wires. Cofipêche is the only Subsaharan African factory positioned on this industrial segment. All equivalent products are imported from Asia.

CAROTECH Benin produces outside tiles, pavement blocks and other construction cement-based inputs. These are processed without any thermal energy. Carotech’s sector of activity is lifted by a swelling urban expansion in Benin and various state programs to renovate public infrastructures. Nomad

NoMAD (Le Nouveau Modèle Africain de Distribution), imports goods and offers a wholesale self-service to professionals in Benin. Nomad is now the main provider for traditional groceries and local minimarkets. In 2008, Nomad signed a master-franchise agreement with the French distribution group Casino. Since then, it undertakes the brand implementation in local stores in Benin. Nomad found its place in a market shared between family monopoles destined to the upper-class and the expatriates on one hand and informal corner shops on the other.
KAWTAL N DEMRI SA

Kawtal is an agribusiness company based in Cameroon, specialized in corn production. In 2009, I&P acquired 40% of SAGEX, an agribusiness company producing corn on a fully-mechanized and rationalized processing plant. In 2014, Sagex merged with Kawtal Ndmeri, a neighboring exploitation in order to double the production and start processing baby feeding flours. Though agriculture is a key sector to Cameroon’s economy (up to 40% of the GDP), it suffers from a lack of mechanization and production rationalization which affects its profitability and production volumes. Thus, local corn farming is highly insufficient to cover the current market needs. Cameroon is every year a net corn importer, which implies high costs for local consumers because of transportation and importation costs. Kawtal intends to fill the needs of this local market with a better-mastered production and distribution chain. Kawtal has developed a partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, so as to enhance the agricultural potential of the region.
GENEMARK processes generic drugs (anti-infectious, anti-parasitic, anti-inflammatory …) and aims at the largest distribution scale thanks to an offer 30% to 50% cheaper than classical drugs. Genemark developers favor the production of liquid drugs (15 references over 27) in order to reduce overdose risks, particularly high in paludism treatments for children.
Afrique Emergence & Investissements (AE&I) is an MFI focusing on microloan distribution and savings addressed to revenue-making activities. Its misson is to fight against poverty in Africa and to improve its clients’ life standards. In order to achieve these goals, AEI seeks for resources likely to build strong linkage between lenders (institutions and individuals) and borrowers (micro-entrepreneurs.). The MFI grants an access to financial market resources as well as profitability and repayment of disbursed loans.
PhileoL is a Malagasy company established in the south of the island where it breeds and transforms ricin seeds into oil. After transformation the oil is exported abroad to be used in cosmetic and industry. Phileol brings at stake a strong social and environmental impact while collaborating with more than 700 families to collect and grow the seeds, ensuring them strong revenue and steady employment while the region remains one of the poorest of the island. With regards to this social project, Phileol has elaborated and signed a Social Code while collaborating with many institutional actors and NGOs like the WWF, the UNPD or else EFA, a local initiative to enhance social improvement in rural areas. Besides, Phileol is also committed in valuating southern rural lands with various projects consisting in clearing and cultivating them.
Biotropical SARL engages in the production and processing of fruits and vegetables. The company also specializes in the processing of fruits and distribution of seedlings of fruit trees. Its products include fruits, such as papaya, mango, and pineapple. The company serves conventional restaurants, distributors of certified organic products, and companies producing industrial beverages and foods for infants and babies. It offers its products in Cameroon and internationally. Biotropical SARL was founded in 1988 and is based in Douala, Cameroon.
Colaser is an ophthalmologic clinic aiming at responding to the needs of a broad and diverse clientele such as individuals, employees under healthcare programs, retired people, middle-class people, and foreigners. The clinic has followed an unfluctuating growth since its creation. It carries out 10,000 consultations and 1,400 medical procedures every year, among which 110 retinal detachments and as many refractive eye surgery. Within a few years, Colaser has become a model for West-African ophthalmological clinics, and attracts a steady flow of patients from neighbor countries.
CAROTECH Mali produces cement-based cover and pavement tiles in Bamako. The process, unique in Mali, does not use any oven, which is a great asset in a country where power is very expensive. CAROTECH Mali project is supported by a particularly buoyant market, driven by the very significant and rapid urban growth in the major cities of the country, especially in Bamako.
SINERGI Niger is a local investment company that aims at the creation and development of small formal enterprises with investments from 30 000 to 75 000 Euros. The Sinergi approach originality stands in majority on the participation to the round table of entrepreneurs from Niger who "sponsors" the financed promoters.
Saphar

Saphar, a Nigerian company established in 1999, is the third largest pharmaceutical distributor in the country, after two subsidiaries of international groups. The company supplies the rural and public hospitals in Niger with generics. The project initially aimed to improve the offer in these underserved areas.
La Laiterie du Berger is the only Senegalese company to manufacture dairy products from local fresh milk, collected from more than 800 farmers in the area Richard Toll in northern Senegal. The products of Laiterie du Berger, distributed in more than 6,000 outlets in late 2012, face a stiff competition face to products made from imported milk powder and dairy products from the informal economy.
ACEP Cameroun S.A. operates as a microfinance institution.
