Philadelphia Energy Solutions operates two refineries, Girard Point and Point Breeze, located in South Philadelphia. The company processes approximately 335,000 barrels of crude oil per day, making it the largest oil refining complex on the U.S. Eastern seaboard and the tenth largest refiner in the country. Founded in 1881 and incorporated in 1929, the company serves a significant customer base, including 1.6 million electric and 485,000 natural gas customers across a franchise utility service area of 2,100 square miles.
