Iowa Startup Accelerator

Iowa Startup Accelerator, Inc. is an accelerator based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, that focuses on technology-based startups in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, agriculture, health, education, and intelligent vehicle systems. The program, lasting 90 days, is designed for pre- and early-revenue startups, accepting teams of 2 to 5 founders who compete for up to 10 available spots. Participants receive seed funding, access to a network of mentors, and entrepreneurial training, culminating in a demo day to showcase their progress to potential investors. Iowa Startup Accelerator aims to invest $20,000 for a 6 percent equity stake in each startup, with the possibility of providing additional funding, primarily in convertible debt. The accelerator specifically avoids investing in service-only businesses, consultancies, restaurants, and locally-oriented companies, focusing instead on nurturing viable technology ventures.
