EarthEnable

EarthEnable is a construction platform focused on improving housing conditions by providing affordable and durable earthen flooring solutions. Founded by four Stanford students in 2013 during a course on entrepreneurial design, the initiative emerged from a partnership with The Mass Design Group. The team recognized the significant health issues associated with dirt floors, which can lead to childhood asthma, diarrhea, malnutrition, and parasitic infections. To address these challenges, EarthEnable trains local masons to craft earthen floors using natural materials, which are then sealed with a proprietary drying oil to ensure durability, cleanliness, and a polished finish. This approach not only enhances the living conditions of families but also promotes healthier environments in communities.
