Clintons, a greeting card retailer based in Corby, England, was founded in 1968 by Don Lewin, starting with its first store in Epping, Essex. Over the years, the company expanded significantly, reaching 77 stores by 1988 and 277 by 1994. It further grew through acquisitions, including 83 shops from Hallmark Cards and 112 from Carlton Cards in the mid-1990s, culminating in a total of approximately 380 stores across the UK, including Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. In 2012, Clintons was acquired by American Greetings, which initiated a comprehensive rebranding effort to enhance the customer experience. This included a refreshed product range featuring cards, gifts, gift wrap, and stationery items, along with a new logo and store refurbishments. Clintons aims to be a destination for celebrating life’s special moments through its products and services, complemented by a transactional website.
