The Innovation Space

The Innovation Space is a not-for-profit innovation ecosystem located on the Experimental Station campus in Wilmington, Delaware. Established in 2017, it serves as a leading incubator and accelerator for startups in the physical sciences. The facility offers 130,000 square feet of state-of-the-art lab and office space equipped with advanced scientific tools and an experienced support team. The Innovation Space fosters collaboration through both physical and virtual programs, such as Spark Factory and Science Inc., connecting scientists, business leaders, and investors to accelerate the commercialization of innovative solutions aimed at improving the human condition. Since its inception, the Innovation Space has supported over 100 startups, contributing to the creation or retention of more than 700 jobs and facilitating over $900 million in investment funding. By focusing on areas such as healthcare, advanced materials, and renewable energy, the Innovation Space aims to stimulate scientific entrepreneurship and enhance Delaware's reputation as a leader in science and technology.
