VisionChina Media Inc. operates an out-of-home digital mobile TV advertising network in China. Using digital mobile television broadcasts to deliver content and advertising to displays on mass transportation systems such as bus and subway networks, its network delivers real-time programming, including news briefs, stock market updates, weather and traffic information, sports highlights, and entertainment shows mixed with TV advertisements. As of June 30, 2011, its extensive network had over 137,000 digital television displays on mass transportation systems. VisionChina Media currently operates mobile digital television displays on bus networks in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Wuxi, Chengdu, Ningbo, Nanjing, Wuhan, Dalian, Shenyang, Zhengzhou, Changchun, Changzhou, Changsha, Taiyuan and Xiamen, and also operates on the subways of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Tianjin, Chongqing, and Hong Kong. Its combined bus and subway networks reach over 221 million residents across China. In each of the cities in which it operates, it has contractual or direct investment arrangements with the local television station as well as the station’s mobile broadcast subsidiary. These long-term relationships provides domestic and multinational corporations a unique media opportunity to reach massive Chinese audiences. As of December 31, 2012, the companys advertising network included 108,567 digital television displays on mass transportation systems in 19 cities. VisionChina Media was founded in April 2005 and went public on December 6, 2007, raising US$124 million.
