The Kapor Center

The Kapor Center for Social Impact is an independent non-profit foundation based in Oakland, California, founded in 1997. It focuses on leveraging information technology to create positive social impacts, particularly for underrepresented communities. The Center aims to enhance diversity and inclusivity within the technology ecosystem and entrepreneurship by addressing systemic barriers that limit access to opportunities. This involves conducting and disseminating action-oriented research to develop effective, evidence-based solutions. The Kapor Center collaborates with two affiliated organizations, SMASH and Kapor Capital, to implement a comprehensive approach aimed at expanding tech inclusion and closing gaps in the pipeline for historically marginalized populations.
