MakerHealth

MakerHealth is a health network dedicated to democratizing the tools of health technology fabrication. Founded in 2008 from academic roots at MIT's Little Devices Lab, MakerHealth has evolved from training students in medical device design to empowering frontline staff in various global settings, including hospitals in the United States and clinics in Central America. Through initiatives like the MakerNurse project, the organization has fostered a community of healthcare innovators who create their own medical devices to improve patient care. MakerHealth offers resources such as tools, courses, and prototyping kits to encourage individuals to develop their skills in health technology. The organization aims to inspire a new generation of health makers by providing the infrastructure necessary for invention in hospitals and beyond, ultimately contributing to a more accessible and user-driven approach to healthcare innovation.
