HPS Investment Partners is a global investment firm established in 2007, specializing in non-investment grade credit. Headquartered in New York, the firm operates with a team of 93 investment professionals and has over 200 employees across ten offices worldwide. Initially formed as a unit of Highbridge Capital Management, a subsidiary of J.P. Morgan Asset Management, HPS was previously known as Highbridge Principal Strategies, LLC. In March 2016, HPS became an independent entity when its principals acquired the firm from J.P. Morgan, which retained the hedge fund strategies. As of mid-2016, HPS managed approximately $30 billion in assets. The firm also operates specialized funds, such as the European Liquid Loan Opportunities Master Fund, which focuses on direct lending opportunities in Europe.
