Friulia SpA is a private equity investment arm of Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia specializing in middle market and mature companies. The firm provides private equity and venture capital for temporary minority shareholdings of up to 35 percent in joint stock and liability companies; expansion capital in the form of loans; start-ups; development capital; management buy-ins and buyouts; turnarounds including diagnosis, recovery projects, loss re-conversion, and restructuring projects; project financing; temporary equity investments in joint ventures located in foreign countries except for Central and Eastern Europe where the promoter is Finest S.p.A.; internationalization; and territorial marketing. The firm invests in a number of sectors ranging from the more traditional to new technology, from manufacturing to organized distribution and from advanced services to tourism and hotels. It seeks to invest companies in based within the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. The firm also does specific participation and provides loan products to small companies where the turnover does not exceed €2.5 million ($2.9 million).
