YouTube

YouTube is a video-sharing platform founded in February 2005 by three former PayPal employees. The platform allows users to upload, view, and share a wide variety of video content, including music videos, educational videos, and personal vlogs. It supports both registered and unregistered users, with registered users enjoying the ability to upload an unlimited number of videos. YouTube features content from various creators, including media corporations and independent artists, and operates predominantly on an ad-supported model, with additional rental options for select films. It aims to foster open dialogue and community engagement by giving individuals a voice and allowing them to connect over shared interests. YouTube is available in 76 languages and was acquired by Google in 2006, operating as a subsidiary of the tech giant.
