Axar Capital Management LP is a private investment firm based in New York, founded in 2015 by Andrew Axelrod, a former co-head of North America for Mount Kellett Capital Management. The firm is registered with the SEC and specializes in opportunistic corporate credit and special situations within the North American middle market. Axar Capital's investment strategy primarily targets middle-market high-yield bonds and leveraged loans across various sectors, including financial services, real estate, industrials, consumer products and retail, and energy. The firm is particularly focused on stressed and distressed investment opportunities.
