Plastc developed a digital wallet and payment smart card designed to consolidate multiple payment methods into a single device. The Plastc Card aimed to store various types of cards, including credit, debit, gift, loyalty, and membership cards, allowing users to make payments and track their spending conveniently. It featured a secure PIN lock, proximity alerts, and a unique ‘Return Me’ mode to enhance security compared to traditional payment methods. Despite raising over $9 million through preorders and promoting its product as a sophisticated payment solution, Plastc faced significant challenges and filed for bankruptcy in April 2017, ultimately failing to deliver its product to customers.
