Friendster

Friendster was launched in 2002 as one of the pioneering social networking sites, enabling users to connect with others, share content, and explore new events and interests. At its peak, the platform attracted tens of millions of registered users. However, over time, Friendster experienced a decline in popularity. In December 2009, it was acquired by MOL Global for $26.4 million. In May 2011, the company shifted its focus from a social networking service to a social gaming platform, ceasing support for existing users' social data and concentrating on providing entertainment and gaming experiences.
