GameFounders is an accelerator and pre-seed fund that focuses exclusively on game studios and startups, particularly in mobile, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR). Established in 2012 and headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, the firm seeks to support teams with two or more members who have launched games, demos, or prototypes. GameFounders invests up to $30,000 and typically takes a 9% equity stake in participating companies. Its three-month program accepts around ten studios at a time, requiring selected teams to relocate for the duration of the accelerator. In 2015, GameFounders expanded its operations by opening a hub in Malaysia to reach the Asian market.
