TPC Group Inc. is a Houston-based chemicals company that specializes in producing value-added products from petrochemical raw materials. Founded in 1943 and originally known as Texas Petrochemicals Inc., the company operates in two primary segments: C4 Processing and Performance Products. The C4 Processing segment focuses on the production of butadiene, butene-1, raffinates, and methyl tertiary butyl ether, which are essential in the manufacture of synthetic rubber, plastic resins, and gasoline blending stocks. The Performance Products segment offers high-purity isobutylene, conventional and highly reactive polyisobutylenes, diisobutylene, as well as nonene and tetramer, which are utilized in various applications, including lubricants, surfactants, and coatings. In addition to its chemical manufacturing, TPC Group provides critical infrastructure and logistics services along the Gulf Coast, serving major clients in the chemical and petroleum industries across North America.
