ZiRO

Pre Seed Round in 2020
ZiRO (previously Smartsmoke) is developing a device and smartphone platform that can measure “puffs” and infer nicotine intake from vaping devices in real time. The device is compatible with Juul as part of phase 1 and uses Bluetooth to provide behavioral values in real time to the smartphone app, which is device agnostic. Tracking consumption with cigarettes is simple. In contrast, many vaping devices use cartridges, which can last for multiple days making it difficult to measure consumption. ZiRO is able to measure the cur- rent between the device and the cartridge, which is proven to be the most accurate way to measure exactly how much nicotine has been ingested. This would allow for additional features to be added such as restricting a puff. ZiRO’s AI is an implementation of a Recurrent Neural Network with Long Short Term Memory, which will reveal keystone habits and triggers.

FuturesightIQ

Seed Round in 2020
FuturesightIQ uses proprietary NLP (Natural Language Processing) to predict future decisions in a company by analyzing the company’s hiring information. FuturesightIQ is able to compile a company’s available positions and hiring status to identify changes and needs in a company. This can be used to predict a company’s future decisions and supply vital information to competitors, investors and financial analysts. Because of the sensitivity around the IP, there’s not a lot that can be discussed, suffice it to say this is a corporate competitive strategy tool based on jobs data. Refinements of the prototype are going very well and have outpaced our current computing power. More specifically, the load from the AI means we need to upgrade our server infrastructure.
