Dow AgroSciences is a global provider of crop protection solutions, originally established as the plant sciences division of The Dow Chemical Company in 1897. The company emerged from a joint venture with Eli Lilly and Company in 1989, known as DowElanco, which combined the agricultural expertise of both firms. In 1997, Dow AgroSciences became fully owned by The Dow Chemical Company. The company specializes in sustainable agriculture, offering a range of products including herbicides, insecticides, fumigants, fungicides, plant genetics, agronomic seeds, and animal health solutions. Dow AgroSciences employs over 8,000 people worldwide and reported global sales of $7.1 billion in 2013.
