The software is developed with a mission to help students gain the confidence that comes from helping others and inspire them to learn in a collaborative community. Brainly is backed by Naspers, Kulczyk Investments, General Catalyst Partners, Point Nine Capital, Runa Capital, and Learn Capital. In 2009, Lukasz Haluch, Michał Borkowski, and Tomasz Kraus co-founded the company in Kraków, Malopolskie, Poland and is available in 35 countries.
