Caltex Resources is a private junior oil and gas exploration company that operates primarily in Canada's Western Sedimentary Basin. Established in 2006, Caltex focuses on exploiting low-geological risk opportunities with significant hydrocarbon accumulations. Its production operations are concentrated in the Lloydminster region, where it extracts heavy oil, and in the Deep Basin, where it produces tight gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs). Caltex employs enhanced oil recovery techniques such as polymer and carbon dioxide injection to extract hard-to-reach oil reserves efficiently and extend the lifespan of its fields. As of August 2010, Caltex's production was approximately 8,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOEPD), with a strategic emphasis on maintaining low operational costs.
