Pressure BioSciences, Inc. is a life sciences company specializing in the research, development, and commercialization of advanced sample preparation systems. The company has developed a patented platform technology known as pressure cycling technology (PCT), which utilizes cycles of hydrostatic pressure to control biomolecular interactions. This technology is integral to their PCT sample preparation system, which includes the Barocycler instrument and disposable PULSE tubes. PCT has diverse applications in genomic, proteomic, and small molecule studies, as well as in areas such as protein purification, pathogen inactivation, and food safety. Pressure BioSciences holds multiple patents in the field and serves a wide range of customers, including academic laboratories, government agencies, and biotechnology companies. Founded in 1978 and based in South Easton, Massachusetts, the company was previously known as Boston Biomedica, Inc. before rebranding in 2004.
