Amerigo Resources

Amerigo Resources Ltd., based in Vancouver, Canada, operates through its subsidiary Minera Valle Central S.A. to produce and sell copper and molybdenum concentrates. The company has a contractual agreement with Codelco's El Teniente Division to process both fresh and historic tailings from the El Teniente mine, which is the largest underground copper mine in the world. Amerigo focuses on treating higher-grade tailings from the Colihues deposit, alongside the fresh tailings from ongoing production. In 2014, the subsidiary produced 41 million pounds of copper and 0.6 million pounds of molybdenum. A significant development in 2014 allowed Amerigo to process historic tailings from the Cauquenes deposit, extending its rights for fresh tailings processing until 2037. The goal is to increase production to 90 million pounds of copper and 2.5 million pounds of molybdenum annually. The company primarily generates revenue from its operations in Chile.
