Sunderland Foundation

The Sunderland Foundation, established in 1945 and based in Overland Park, Kansas, focuses on providing grants to support construction and renovation projects for nonprofits, particularly in the Kansas City region and areas traditionally served by the Ash Grove Cement Company. The Foundation prioritizes funding for brick-and-mortar initiatives, including planning, design, construction, repairs, and restoration, which are essential for creating spaces where families in distress can receive help, where young individuals can thrive, and where communities can gather for celebration and inspiration. Through its work, the Sunderland Foundation aims to enhance the infrastructure of established nonprofits, ensuring they have the necessary facilities to fulfill their missions effectively. The Foundation's assets are managed by a board of trustees.
