SUNT is an Amsterdam-based startup that makes food products from discarded bananas.

At Sibo our purpose is to find new efficient and clean raw materials and create healthy and sustainable solutions for the world. We are in the business of saving the world, and we do it by looking for solutions where no one else does, by using BioTech and FoodTech as our biggest tools we have found a passion for waste and other un-common materials such as insects. Thanks to this we have started a series of sub-companies to focus on each of this areas. Our current companies and trademarks are: Costa Rica Insect Company - CRIC founded in October 2018 in Costa Rica Entowise founded in The Netherlands in April 2020 Bbite a trademark create under CRIC for consumer foods and snacks Each of this companies is helping us create tailored solutions for different sectors of the food industry. From food ingredients that can be used in the preparation of any kind of food, alternative and sustainable proteins and snacks, to edible packaging and even more solutions to come. Our focus in the food industry comes mainly because there are red alerts in healthy and public nutrition world wide where we now know 60% of the population has symptoms of malnutrition and that by 2050 the world will not have enough food for the amount of population at that time (10 Billion people estimated). But besides that we found that the traditional food industry is one of the mayor causes of the pollution in the world, livestock specially by being one of the major contributors to CO2 emissions, traditional agriculture uses already 50% of the habitable land and requires a large amount of water, and the food industry in general is very inefficient not only in the production but also because it wastes 30% of the production. Sibö is the name of the primary deity in the Talamancan mythology of Costa Rica. He is the hero who taught people what foods are safe to eat, how to plant crops, and set down the rules of society regarding use the natural resources. This is our why at Sibo
