The Heinz Endowments

The Heinz Endowments is an independent non-profit foundation located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Established in 2007 through the merger of the Howard Heinz Endowment and the Vira I. Heinz Endowment, the foundation focuses on addressing challenges that extend beyond the local community, using southwestern Pennsylvania as a testing ground for innovative solutions. Its mission encompasses a broad range of philanthropic efforts, with particular emphasis on five key areas: arts and culture, children, youth and families, community and economic development, education, and the environment. Through its grant-making programs, The Heinz Endowments seeks to foster positive change and improve the quality of life within the region while also contributing to national discourse on pressing social issues.
