Fairstead, founded in 2014, is a national real estate developer focused on affordable, mixed-income, and workforce housing. With its headquarters in New York, Maryland, and South Carolina, the company employs over 600 people and operates a comprehensive real estate platform that includes acquisitions, development, design, construction, property management, and community impact. Since its inception, Fairstead has acquired, developed, or preserved more than $4 billion in multi-family properties and is actively working on a pipeline of an additional $2.3 billion in assets. The company also encompasses Fairstead Ventures, a $100 million initiative targeting strategic investments in technology aimed at enhancing energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability in affordable housing. This division focuses on retrofitting existing properties and developing new, state-of-the-art housing solutions while piloting innovative products and scaling effective technologies across its portfolio.
