It invests in women-led startups, primarily in technology and technology-enabled sectors such as enterprise software, data analytics, health, fintech, transportation, and media, focusing on early-stage opportunities in the United States. The firm typically participates in seed and Series A rounds and often acts as a co-investor in follow-on rounds. Beyond capital, HearstLab provides a year of hands-on services drawn from Hearst's resources to help portfolio companies scale, including assistance with commercial deals, privacy and security, legal, marketing, and fundraising.
