In 2014, an international consortium formed by Argentine media group Grupo Veintitrés, UK investment fund ISM Capital and US fund Optimum Advisors acquired the company from its former controller, US-based NII Holdings. Five months later, Nextel Chile was sold to European telecom investment company Novator, which re-launched the firm in 2015 under the brand name WOM. The company offers mobile services through 2G, 3G and 4G technology in the country's main cities.
