With a strong team experienced in biotechnology, electronics, and physics, Magnomics has attracted €1.6 million in seed financing and is seeking an additional €1.5 million to finalize the prototyping of its first product targeting animal health. Their technology utilizes microfluidics and magnetoresistive DNA sensing to enable DNA detection within a single cartridge, requiring no specialized training to operate. The initial focus is on detecting bovine mastitis, a significant issue for dairy producers that incurs over €30 billion in annual losses worldwide. The veterinary diagnostics market, estimated at €4 billion, is poised for growth, and Magnomics anticipates capturing a portion of this market by selling directly to farmers or veterinarians and negotiating partnerships with major pharmaceutical and dairy firms.
