Arlington Asset Investment

Arlington Asset Investment is a principal investment firm based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area that specializes in acquiring mortgage-related assets. The firm primarily invests in residential mortgage-backed securities (MBS) that are either issued by U.S. government agencies or guaranteed by them, known as agency-backed MBS. In addition to these, Arlington also invests in private-label MBS. The company's portfolio includes a range of MBS types, including leveraged investments and net long TBA positions, with agency MBS making up the majority of its investment capital. Arlington aims to achieve high risk-adjusted returns on its capital by managing a diverse portfolio of mortgage holdings and generating most of its interest income from agency MBS.
