Ampol

Ampol is an independent Australian company engaged in the refining, importing, and marketing of fuels and lubricants. Founded in 1956 and headquartered in Sydney, it stands as the largest petroleum refiner and distributor listed in Australia, with operations across all states and territories. The company, previously known as Caltex, transitioned to its current branding after Chevron sold its ownership stake in 2015, leading to the termination of the Caltex brand license in Australia. Ampol operates a refinery in Lytton, Brisbane, while having closed its Kurnell refinery to concentrate on the more profitable distribution and retail sectors. In 2022, Ampol expanded its presence by acquiring New Zealand's Z Energy for NZD 2.0 billion, reinforcing its commitment to high-quality products and customer service in local and national markets.
