Blackbinder

Grant in 2015
Blackbinder has developed a patented technology that transforms the way musicians read and perform music by providing a pageless digital format. This innovative application allows notes to flow continuously on a screen, similar to a teleprompter, which helps musicians focus solely on playing and enjoying the music without the distractions of turning pages. The system automatically adjusts the scroll speed to match the performance tempo, reducing errors during play. Blackbinder's solution is designed for individual musicians, groups, and institutions such as conservatories and orchestras, allowing them to manage tasks traditionally done with paper scores, including acquisition, storage, sharing, and annotation. Additionally, the closed ecosystem of Blackbinder ensures secure access and control over intellectual property rights, making unauthorized reproduction impractical. Through ongoing engagement with musicians, Blackbinder aims to enhance user experience and explore new business opportunities across the music value chain.
