Material Evolution
Series A in 2023
Material Evolution is a manufacturing company focused on decarbonizing the cement industry through AI and machine learning-enabled chemistry and a low-capital, energy-efficient production process. It develops smart, sustainable concrete and a cement replacement made from hyper-local waste streams, with the aim of rapidly reducing carbon emissions and helping construction sectors meet their sustainability goals.
BeamUP
Convertible Note in 2023
BeamUP employs artificial intelligence to scrutinize millions of data points from building assets, workforce, standards, and system design data. This analysis generates solutions aimed at reducing costs, ensuring compliance, and optimizing operations.
StructShare
Seed Round in 2023
StructShare is a technology company that provides a cloud-based procurement platform for construction materials, automating the purchasing and material handling workflows for contractors and suppliers. The platform enables quick field orders, purchase order management, price comparison, and seamless accounting and ERP integration, along with automated invoice reconciliation and warehouse inventory control. It supports data collection and dashboards to monitor performance, automate follow-ups, resolve disputes, and provide supplier performance insights. Built to connect contractors with existing and new suppliers, the system uses data-driven tools and artificial intelligence to streamline procurement, reduce time and costs, and improve visibility across the supply chain. StructShare was founded in 2017 to rebuild the construction material ecosystem from the foundation up.
Modulize
Seed Round in 2022
Offsite construction (OSC) platform powered by calculation and design automation
Prefabrication and modular construction allow us to reduce time, cost and waste in construction projects. To unlock the full potential of prefabrication, Modulize will enable simplified information extraction from complex 3D building models. With its component extractor, contractors can process models to automatically turn relevant parts of the model into tenders to be shared with manufacturers. In addition, we are developing generative design and optimisation algorithms that will enable designers and manufacturers to seamlessly collaborate to maximise the use and benefit of prefabrication and modular design. In particular, Modulize will enable design-manufacturer fit by linking manufacturers and customers based on manufacturing capacity and capability, as well as compliance with local rules and regulations.
Prefabrication and modular construction allow us to reduce time, cost and waste in construction projects. Our solution, Modulize, will unlock prefab adoption through 1) automated component extraction from 3D models and 2) generative design and optimisation algorithms that let designers, contractors and manufacturers maximise the use and benefit of prefabrication.
