For an intensive undergraduate experience in the liberal arts and biblical studies, the Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, may be the place for you. The university is affiliated with the Assemblies of God Christian denomination. All academics are informed by this affiliation, emphasizing a Christian perspective through its liberal arts programs. More than 50 majors, 65 minors and 25 concentrations are available for undergraduate study in 10 academic departments. Whether you want to pursue Business, Behavioral Sciences, Theology, Music or Social Sciences, the school has programs for you. Evangel has its own unique leadership minor through the LifeWorks department, which is a multi-dimensional program designed to help you explore your calling. You’ll have the ability to study abroad, work closely with the community, receive work experience in your field of study or help local churches as you discover your life’s calling. To provide students with the resources for an exciting student life, Evangel hosts many annual traditions, including Harvest Fest, Spring Fling, Fashion Fever and banquet events. These activities promote a sense of community and fun among both the student body and faculty. Admissions are determined by an applicant’s high school transcript, ACT/SAT scores and two letters of recommendation, one of which must be pastoral and the other academic. As part of the enrollment process, you’ll file a FAFSA to be automatically considered for financial aid through scholarships and federal grants and loans.
