Teacher Retirement System of Texas
Teacher Retirement System of Texas is a public pension plan for the State of Texas, based in Austin and established in 1937 to provide retirement benefits for educators employed by the state’s public schools, colleges, and universities. It administers retirement benefits and related programs, and also offers health insurance for public school retirees. The system manages assets on behalf of its members through an executive management team, investing across global equities, fixed income and real return strategies, with exposure to real estate, infrastructure and other asset classes to support long-term benefit obligations.
