The Wicks Group

The Wicks Group of Companies, L.L.C. is a private equity firm based in New York City that invests in lower-middle-market companies operating in selected segments of the information, education and media industries principally in the United States and Canada. Since its founding in 1989, Wicks has invested over $1 billion of capital in 28 platform companies and approximately 100 add-on acquisitions. The firm has applied a consistent investment strategy since its founding, partnering with high-quality, experienced management teams to build businesses organically and through acquisitions. The firm was formed by Craig B. Klosk, Carter F. Bales and Edgar R. Berner. Today the Firm is managed and controlled by Klosk, Matthew E. Gormly III, Daniel M. Kortick, Daniel L. Black, and Max von Zuben who are involved in all of the Firm's investment and management activities and serve on the Board of Directors of all portfolio companies. Messrs. Bales and Berner continue to serve as Senior Advisors to the Firm. In addition, Wicks employs many other investment professionals who have collectively accumulated extensive investment, operating and financial knowledge both at Wicks and in prior professional positions, and have demonstrated the ability to successfully acquire and aggregate businesses, strengthen management, refocus strategy, improve operations, build cash flows and realize significant returns for investors.
