This department offers three programs: Service Learning, Honors, and Study Away. The Academic Service Learning program combines coursework with community outreach by finding ways to integrate community needs with learning opportunities. The Study Away program offers local, regional, national or international options. Students can spend two weeks on the Upper Peninsula to learn about Swedish, Danish or Finish cultures, a month in Nova Scotia to learn about the Scottish traditions in Canada, or two weeks in Barcelona to study architecture. Individuals looking to apply to GRCC should complete their online application, submit their high school transcripts and ACT scores, fill out their FAFSA in order to see if they are eligible for financial aid, and take the Accuplacer assessment test. Accuplacer, the admissions placement test, can be bypassed if students meet ACT score standards in addition to a high school GPA of 2.0 or higher.
