Tsinghua University

Tsinghua University, established in 1911 in northwest Beijing, has a rich history rooted in the interplay of Chinese and Western cultures, as well as a commitment to both the sciences and humanities. Originally founded as "Tsinghua Xuetang," it underwent several name changes before becoming "National Tsinghua University" in 1928. The university's early scholars, known as the "Four Tutors," significantly influenced its development by emphasizing a holistic educational approach. During the Second Sino-Japanese War, Tsinghua relocated to Kunming and collaborated with Peking University and Nankai University to form the Southwest Associated University. After the war, it returned to Beijing in 1946. In addition to its academic pursuits, the Tsinghua University Education Foundation, established in 1994, is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing educational quality and fostering connections between the university and society. Tsinghua University remains a prominent institution, recognized for its educational excellence and cultural significance.
