China Southern Airlines Company Limited, headquartered in Guangzhou, is one of the largest state-owned airlines in China, providing airline transportation services domestically and internationally, including routes to Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and various other countries. The company operates through two main segments: Airline Transportation Operations and Other Segments. It offers passenger, cargo, mail delivery, and additional extended transportation services. Beyond these core services, the company also provides aircraft repair and maintenance, air catering, cargo handling, logistics, freight, and airport ground services, as well as import and export agency, flight simulation, pilot training, hotel management, and tour operations. As of 2023, China Southern Airlines operates a fleet of 908 aircraft and carried over 150 million passengers in prepandemic 2019.

US Airways is a major provider of international and domestic air transport services in the United States, owned by the American Airlines Group. Established in 1973, the airline operates a fleet consisting of 343 mainline jet aircraft and 278 regional jet and turbo-prop aircraft, which are utilized by contract and subsidiary airlines under the US Airways Express brand. The airline serves a network of 193 destinations across North America, South America, Europe, and the Middle East, including an hourly shuttle service connecting Boston, New York City, and Washington, D.C. As of October 2013, US Airways employed over 32,000 individuals and operated approximately 3,028 daily flights. It is also a member of the Oneworld alliance and operates hubs at major airports, including Charlotte/Douglas International and Philadelphia International. Following a merger with American Airlines, US Airways continues to provide extensive air transportation services to its customers.
