Icon Capital AS is a venture capital and private equity firm specializing in investments in early stage, growth capital, special situations, mature stage, buy and build through consolidations or mergers and acquisitions, distressed debt, international expansion, under-appreciated companies, restructurings, and strategic add-on acquisitions. It seeks to invest in the service sector; telecom, media, and technology; energy with a focus on oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors; and considers investments in environmental technology, special health services to the elderly, healthcare, industrials, retail, and nanotechnology sectors. The firm typically invests in Northern Europe with a focus on companies based in the Nordic region, or having the Nordic region as a trigger market, or has some links of importance to the Nordic market. It also seeks to invest in Central and Eastern Europe countries, although on a limited scale. It prefers to take majority stake in its portfolio companies.
