Credit Guarantee and Investment Facility

Credit Guarantee and Investment Facility (CGIF) is a multilateral facility established in 2010 by the ASEAN+3 members and the Asian Development Bank. Its purpose is to develop and strengthen local currency and regional bond markets in the ASEAN+3 region and to promote economic development, stability, and resilience of financial markets. CGIF provides guarantees and related support to issuers and intermediaries to help them access longer-term local currency financing, reducing reliance on short-term foreign currency borrowings and mitigating currency and maturity mismatches. By expanding local currency bond issuance, CGIF aims to widen funding sources for corporations and contribute to financial market deepening in the region.
