Established in 1886, the company was previously known as Consumers Power Company until its name change in 1997. It operates primarily through three segments: Electric Utility, which encompasses the generation, purchase, transmission, distribution, and sale of electricity; Gas Utility, which involves the purchase, transmission, storage, distribution, and sale of natural gas; and Enterprises, which includes non-utility operations and investments.
