Sense specializes in developing and distributing tracking devices and home automation solutions for its customers. Sense, its home monitoring system, is able to listen to the electronic signatures of electrical devices through its current sensors on the main breakers in electrical panels and records them. Followed by the recording process, it applies multi-domain device signature detection algorithms to distinguish one appliance from another to recognize each individual voice. Furthermore, the system transmits its data to its users through a specially designed mobile application. Sense was founded by Ryan Houlette, Christopher Micali, and Mike Phillips in 2013 and is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Petal is a credit card company that is built to help people financially succeed. It aims to make credit honest, simple, and accessible. The company uses machine learning to analyze a customer’s full digital financial record—not just their credit score. We protect drivers covering personal, rideshare, and delivery driving for leading companies including Favor/HEB, Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Gopuff, Instacart, Amazon Flex, Uber Eats, Grubhub, Shipt, and more. We offer gig workers access to services such as insurance with no credit check to help them succeed. We provide a community of fellow gig drivers, forums, member benefits, and expertise because we understand the gig economy, insurance, and the key stakeholders better than anyone. We also form strategic partnerships with select Managing General Agents (MGA) to align the interests of brokers, insurers, and reinsurers and maximize value across all levels. Our digital carrier platform enables data insights to support ratings, while also enhancing efficiency and reducing costs for these independent, but complementary partners.

SDCL’s investment business is focused on clean energy and energy efficiency project finance. SDCL has established specialist funds in the UK, Ireland and Singapore and is launching new funds in New York and China. SDCL’s funds in each country are in partnership with governments as an investor, promoter or guarantor. The funds invest in energy efficiency retrofit projects and seek a return based on savings achieved. This generates ongoing operational cost savings and carbon emission reductions as well as improvements to productivity and asset values, in compliance with current and prospective building regulations.
