Vishay

Vishay Intertechnology, founded in 1962 by Dr. Felix Zandman, initially focused on foil resistors and strain gages. Named after Dr. Zandman's ancestral village in Lithuania, the company has grown to become a leading manufacturer of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components. In 1985, after establishing itself as a top producer of foil resistors and strain gages, Vishay began a series of strategic acquisitions to expand its product offerings. Over time, innovations and growth led to the separation of its resistive foil technology products, which were spun off into an independent entity in 2010, known as Vishay Precision Group. Today, Vishay Intertechnology continues to play a significant role in the electronic components industry.
